Our International jury strives to choose the best projects from new filmmakers
Each quarterly year edition our judges will select the winners from the following categories. In order to apply to any additional category, the film must be submitted in a major category (best short, best foreign short, best documentary short, best animation short, best experimental short, best student short and best music video). *ONLY SHORT FILMS AND MUSIC VIDEOS ARE ACCEPTED! (max 40 min)

All films selected in each quarterly edition of PIIF will receive the official laurel and an achievement certificate.
Winners of the Annual Gala Awards will receive the PIIF Trophy in addition to the laurel and certificate
PIIF festival is based in Prague. Our Jury will select the best of each Quarterly Festival (4 seasons) and choose the winners who will automatically qualified for the Annual Gala held in Prague. All the films will be reviewed and scored by our experienced Jury from all around the world.
JURY
The jury in Piif is formed by professionals from vary different areas capable to evaluate and select the best films from the Festival. Professionals that have been working in important industry such as Europe and US.
DIEGO FANDOS has written and directed TV commercials, documentaries and the feature "Cosmos", presented and competing in the San Sebastian Film Festival and released in 2008. His last two shorts -"Under Pressure" (2014) and "Aurora" (2017) have been selected and awarded in more than 60 festivals around the world. "Lemon Loves" (2015, Ediciones Eunate), was his first book. And the second one is the handbook "Writing for Short Film. In the Hollywood style. In the European way" (2019).
DAVID STEJSKAL is a director, writer and acting coach with background in Casting. As a Casting director, being a member of Casting Society of America, he worked on films like ‘Medieval’, ‘Ophelia’ and ‘Unlocked’ and TV series ‘Whiskey Cavalier’ ‘Knightfall’, ‘12 Monkeys’, ‘Transporter’ and ‘Crossing Lines’. He was trained as a film director at Northern Film School in England and in Television production at Edinburgh College in Scotland.
PETAR MRDJEN is a Serbian - Swedish Composer and Sound Designer based in Prague. He has mainly worked on short films and plays. For the past 4 years you could also find him teaching Sound at Picture at Prague Film School (PFS). In his last work SONNTAG, Petar created a nominated sound-editing in multichannel surround, which is rare for a drama where sound traditionally takes a backseat.

TEREZA HIRSCH is a Czech-German award-winning director, screenwriter and producer. She is best known for her short films The Guilt List (2016) and Beyond Her Lens (2019) as well as various music videos, shot across three continents. In the last years has divided her professional life between Los Angeles and Prague.
STEVE REVERAND is film producer and has co-founded in 2012 a Production Company, The LAB - a Media Production Company, based in Prague, Czech Republic. The LAB acquired the post-production facility Dpost in 2018 to become a one-stop shop for creative content. Steve Reverand also acts as a project manager and post-production instructor for the Prague Film School since 2006.
MARCELA HOLUBCOVA is a Prague based actress she has been on many TV series, theater plays and movies throughout the entire Czech Republic.
KLÁRA BELICOVÁ is a Prague-based cinematographer. She completed her master's degree at FAMU in 2017. In 2016, the documentary feature film HELENA'S LAW (Dir. Petra Nesvačilová) was distributed in Czech cinemas and nominated for the Best Documentary Czech Film Academy Awards.
This year, the fiction feature SNĚŽÍ! / SNOWING! (Dir. Kristina Nedvědová) will be premiered.
MAŠA HILČIŠIN is a filmmaker, producer, lecturer and scholar, who has been working at Prague College since 2009. She holds a BA in Comparative Literature, an MA in European Studies, and a PhD from Masaryk University. Her professional background includes work for media, cultural and human rights organizations in the region of former Yugoslavia where her interests were centred around human rights activism, cultural activism, media research and media formation within the context of nationalism.
ADÉLA BURSOVÁ is a makeup artist, hair stylist and costume designer from the north of Czech Republic. She’s dedicated her life to artistry and loves teaching people what she’s learned throughout the years. Anděla has worked on international projects with legendary artists like Nick Dudman and Mark Coulier. She has also been awarded as winner of the Czech Makeup Championship two years in a row (2017, 2018) and also second world champion (2019)
FLAVIA GUERRA is a documentarian and journalist. She is specialized in film and TV and a podcast presenter. She is also a film columnist and covers major international film festivals. Flavia has scripted, narrated, produced, directed and participated in several projects in documentaries and cinema, such as “Karl Max Way”,“Life March”. More recently she has scripted and narrated the documentary series “Brasil seen from the sky”
RICARDO PERES is a partner at Araweté Filmes and founder of Topázio Filmes. He is director, production designer, photographer and graphic designer. He teaches Direction, Production Design and Film Culture at the São Paulo Film Institute. He is a Production Designer for feature and Short Films having won Awards in production design at festivals like 14th Comunicurtas, 2nd OffCine Awards and the III Street Film Festival in Remígio.
BÁRA FIŠEROVÁ is a czech actress. She is graduated artist in acting school DAMU in Prague and started acting at the age of 6 years old. She has acted in tv, short and feature film productions, theater and now you can watch her in plays happening in two theater in Prague and shooting another two czech features. She also paints pictures and illustrated and wrote two books. You can also find her as a volunteer in projects involving Unicef, Good Angel, Ronald Macdonald, Dogs shelters and more...
